Program Description

TownRep sends transactional and informational text messages on behalf of the service businesses that use the Platform, in response to requests you initiate through a business’s website. Messages relate to your inquiry — for example, quotes, scheduling, confirmations, and updates about the work you asked about. No promotional or marketing messages are sent.

Some of these replies are written by an automated assistant on the business’s behalf. You can ask to deal with a person instead at any point, and the business will take over the conversation themselves.

Calls

Where a business has switched it on, the same assistant may answer your call, or call you back after you submit their form — only with a number you gave, only about the request you made, and only between 8am and 9pm.

Those calls use AI and may be recorded and transcribed. Every one of them opens by telling you so, before anything else is said. You can ask to speak to a person instead at any time.

Consent

By providing your phone number on a business’s contact form, you consent to receive the messages described above from that business, powered by TownRep. Where that business has phone answering or call-back switched on, the consent block on their form says so explicitly, and naming calls and AI is what you are agreeing to there. Providing your phone number is optional and is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

We never contact you about anything other than the request you made unless you separately and explicitly ask us to. Replying STOP ends the texts; it does not stop the business calling you, and they can still reach you by phone or email.

Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies based on your request activity. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier’s plan. TownRep does not charge you for receiving these messages.

Opting Out — Reply STOP

You can cancel messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, you will receive one confirmation and then no further messages from that program. To resume, reply START.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change, and we cannot guarantee that messages will be delivered on every carrier at all times.

Privacy

Your information is handled as described in our Customer Privacy Policy. We do not share, sell, rent, or lease your mobile phone number, text-messaging opt-in, or SMS consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for this program are used only to communicate with you about your request.
